Grafton Village Cheese Receives Top Honors from the American Cheese Society

As the world recently celebrated achievements at the Summer Olympics, Grafton Village Cheese is proud to announce its own victories in the prestigious American Cheese Society Awards competition. This summer, two of Grafton’s cheeses were recognized with top honors:

Shepsog – 1st Place in the Cheddar category (mixed milk aged through 12 months) for the second consecutive year.

Named the best mixed milk cheddar in the country, Shepsog, a mix of cow and sheep’s milk, impressed the judges with its exceptional Taste, Appearance, and Texture.

“The kind of cheese that keeps you coming back for more. Fantastic flavor that will be incredibly easy to sell at any shop. Can stand alone, or pair with wine, beer, and cocktails. Beautiful wheel as well!”

Storyteller – 2nd Place in the American Made/International Style category. No 1st Place was awarded, making Storyteller the top cheese in its class.

Storyteller is Grafton’s Pyrenees-style cheese, admired for its rustic, artisan appeal, buttery texture, and nutty, sweet, grassy notes. The judges particularly enjoyed the pleasant aftertaste.

“This is a really great wheel of cheese. Can easily sell this as a Manchego alternative. Nice clean flavors. Well done!”

Congratulations to our champion Head Cheese Maker, Mario Gonzalez, and his talented team for their outstanding achievements.
