Grafton Village Cheese Opens New Store

Specialty Wine & Cheese Shoppe Opens in Grafton

New Store Offers More in Village Location

New Grafton StoreGrafton Village Cheese Company, makers of award-winning, handcrafted Vermont cheddar cheese, opened a new specialty shop in the heart of historic Grafton on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.

The new store is located next to The Old Tavern at Grafton in the village center and offers over 80 varieties of cheese, a large selection of fine wines, Vermont products, specialty foods and more.

A grand opening celebration is planned for the Specialty Cheese and Wine Shoppe in Grafton on July 3rd to coincide with the Grafton Music Festival and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra concert at Grafton Ponds.  Grafton Village Cheese currently operates the Specialty Cheese and Wine Shoppe in Brattleboro, Vermont as well.

The viewing windows into the cheese production facility in Grafton continue to offer visitors the opportunity to watch the handcrafting of premium Vermont cheddar.  The former retail store, which was located next to the production facility, will become an educational space for visitors to learn about Grafton’s history of cheesemaking.

Grafton Village Cheese is a subsidiary of the non-profit Windham Foundation, whose mission is to promote Vermont’s rural communities and promote agribusiness.  By utilizing its facilities for additional cheese conversion, Grafton Village Cheese furthers this mission and contributes to the success of a number of dairy enterprises.
